HEY JEALOUSY: Gin Blossoms play to a packed house, wrapping up our Coors Light Summer Concert Series.

GETTING SAUCY: JACK-FM listeners were well-fed thanks to Josh [far right] and the crew at Pizza Bar.

FRIDAY, JULY 9 ON THE KC LIVE STAGE: MTV favorite Cracker.

Hours before the show, we were treated to an acoustic performance from Cracker's David Lowery [left] and a surprise visit from original Camper Van Beethoven guitarist Greg Lisher [right.]

Nikita is a 700-pound polar bear at the Kansas City Zoo. When was the last time YOU were this close to a bear?

FOOD, GLORIOUS FOOD: Also on Saturday ... Price Chopper in Bonner Springs had a three-day truckload sale.

I FEEL LIKE I'M FORGETTING SOMETHING: Wait, batteries. I hope they have batteries. Where are the batteries?

MOVE IT ON OVER: When you drive the JACK-FM H3, you don't need to bother with ordinary "parking spaces."

DIABETES FRIENDLY: Loitering at a Gladstone Subway location with the owner, and the VITAZEST guy.

Wait -- Subway does BREAKFAST now? AND they have a new Hickory BBQ Chicken sandwich for lunch? Nice.

FRIDAY, JULY 23 ON THE KC LIVE STAGE: rock and roll band Fuel turned it beyond 11. Photos HERE.

Those are the JACK-FM listeners up above, enjoying the show from the Coors Light Refreshment Party Deck.

Spicy wings for the party provided by the gals at McFadden's Sports Saloon, celebrating Christmas in July.

Big thanks to Chef Birdi from Tango Sed Cantina (right) for complimentary Mexican cuisine at our VIP parties.

We visited Price Chopper in Platte City to investigate the newly turbo-charged Chopper Shopper Rewards cards.

Too busy to grocery shop and cook? There's a Planet Sub inside the store -- not to mention tasty Zepi's Pizza.

Price Chopper is known for some of the best fruits and vegetables around -- and a fantastic meat section.

Started off the weekend at Westlake Ace Hardware in Independence, Missouri. "Big" know-how indeed!

Found a flea market next door, and bought these out-of-print 80's records dirt cheap. Ammo for the Vinyl Vault!

Nothing like a little record shopping to work up an appetite ... thankfully Fiorella's Jack Stack has BBQ to go!

Visited some friends who have a pool on the roof of their loft. Great view of KC from nine stories up!

Thanks to my seldom-worn Operation shirt, I thought I had the sharpest look around going into the three-day Memorial Day weekend -- 'til I got a haircut at Chop Tops in Merriam. Dang, should I get my hair dyed black??

These people came to Westport on a sunny Saturday afternoon for Kansas City Beerfest 2010.

Volunteers supported a healthy variety of beers ... and raised money for the Kansas City Free Health Clinic.

Visitors were able to sample countless varieties of beer, bock, porter, lager, ale, IPA, you name it.

What's better than all the ice-cold beer you care to drink? How about live music from Snot Rocket!

Beerfest is a chance to sample exotic tastes from Canada, Germany, Belgium, and every place in between.

Of course, some of the best beers come from the USA! I'm fond of Kansas City's own Boulevard beer.

I've always been a fan of the Sonic half-price happy hour on drinks between 2-4 pm. But now I'm torn between the cherry limeade and the newly improved real ice cream shakes.

Time for the spring season at the Kansas City Zoo. They're open year-round, but there's some new stuff now!

Kids always seem to love the North American river otters.

JACK-FM was on hand for the grand opening of Snakes Alive!

Don't worry, this was just the scene at the gift shop. The real critters are generally behind glass.

Not so long ago, JACK-FM rolled up to the new building for Cass Regional Medical Center in Harrisonville.

Most of us avoid hospitals -- but on a day when you need one, it's great to have a place so state-of-the-art.

Silence! I am working on my Kraftwerk tribute album over here, do not meddle with my mad genius.

I keep the Airwolf theme cued up in the CD player in case a helicoptor lands next to the JACK-FM hummer.

This isn't just any helicoptor. It's Life Flight Eagle, the air ambulance that saves lives every day.
