USE THE FORCE, STEVE-O: JACK-FM's Star Wars-themed multimedia space took First Place in the Celebrity Designer Rooms contest at Bartle Hall over the weekend. That means we get to donate $500 in prize money to Harvesters Community Food Network.

DARTH VADER: "I find your lack of voting for Steve-O's Designer Room disturbing."

FULLY ARMED AND OPERATIONAL BATTLE STATION: Crowds were drawn in by the booming sound of the Return of the Jedi Blu-Ray on HDTV in surround-sound, courtesy of Home Connections of Greater Kansas Ctiy.

REAL GENIUS: Galaxy-sized thanks to my designer dream team from Designed 4 You.

FRIENDLY COMPETITION: Hanging with KMBC-9 traffic guru Johnny Rowlands and KSHB news' Keith King in Johnny's ultra-cool Designer Rooms entry. This swanky bar plays round-the-clock Sinatra and serves real alcohol!

EXTRA CREDIT: Thank you Michele and Meghan at Vintage Stock for the cool collectibles ... Sherwin Williams, Rug Studio, Rekindled Spaces, Trend Stone, and Mountain Movers for their invaluable contributions ... Acoustic Graffiti for the musical instruments ... the Kansas City Star for mentioning us specifically in their story ... and Audra and the gang at Sand Dollar Events for the invitation to participate in this event.

BIRTHDAY BASH: At the historic Uptown Theater, JACK-FM celebrated 7 years on the air.

EMPIRE STATE HUMANS: Backstage with the Human League before the show.

DON'T YOU WANT ME BABY? The League took synthesizers to the top of the charts 3 decades ago with Dare.

NACHO MAMA'S SNACKS: The official pre-party for our Human League and Foo Fighters shows had to be at the Cashew, 2000 Grand. Gotta love those half-price appetizers before 6pm, served with a smile and perfect with the daily drink specials. Better still, you could leave your car in the Cashew's free parking lot, and catch the short-bus to and from the concert to avoid traffic and parking fees. Check their website for details on any given concert, parade, event or even Chiefs home game! --Steve-O

GETTING READY: Perfect weather at Livestrong Sporting Park. Let's have a concert!

RATED FOUR STARS : My day started with a Farm Aid press conference including Dave Matthews, Neil Young, John Mellencamp, Willie Nelson and a host of others involved with farming. All four of these guys got on the mic.

NEVER TOO BUSY FOR HIS FANS: I ran into Jason Mraz signing autographs afterward.

MEANWHILE, OUT IN THE TENT: Chatting with actress and singer Rebecca Pidgeon.

WHO'S DOWN WITH V-I-P? Every hour, more JACK-FM listeners won all-access VIP wristbands.

EARLY BIRD SPECIALS: Those who skipped work Friday were treated to the Joy Formidable, Fitz and the Tantrums, D12, Jack's Mannequin, Arctic Monkeys, Paper Diamond, Doomtree, Ellie Goulding, and Kid Cudi (pictured above.) Not to mention countless DJ's spinning tunes in the Critical Mass tent.

YOU SPIN ME RIGHT 'ROUND: Hula hoop contest for waterslide tickets, with Lefty from 103.7 the Dam.

JERRY WAS A RACECAR DRIVER: Hmmm, what song would Primus end their set with at a racetrack?

ICE ICE BABY: Brian G from the Dept. of Free Stuff That Rules at JACK-FM and the Dam, brings da popsicles.

COVER ME: Ween launch into a surprisingly respectful cover of David Bowie's "Let's Dance."

ALEX CHASE FROM THE JACK-FM PRODUCTION DEPT: "Kanrocksas sure beats makin' commercials."

MOONWALKING: Flaming Lips are a hella tough act to follow (but Eminem would soon prove up to the task!)

READY FOR THEIR CLOSE-UP: Day #2 at Kanrocksas, an early performance by OK Go!

UNLEASHED: My vote for the most electric stage presence, Cage the Elephant.

SPRINGFIELD'S BEST NEW RADIO STATION: Flying high with our friends at Funny 102.5.

MASH IT UP: Girl Talk shares his personal space with a few thousand new Kansas City friends.

SAVE FERRIS ... WHEELS: Other performers on Saturday included the mighty Muse, the Black Keys, A Perfect Circle, Flogging Molly, Grace Potter & the Nocturnals, and John Digweed.

America's TOP radio deejays arrived in Hollywood for a screening of Captain America: the First Avenger.

Happy to say, Captain America ROCKS, and the guys on our first discussion panel had a lot to do with that. At the center sits director Joe Johnston, who won an Academy Award for his special effects work on Raiders of the Lost Ark while working for George Lucas at Industrial Light and Magic, in addition to directing films like The Rocketeer and Honey I Shrunk the Kids. Also seated, co-writers Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely, plus Marvel executives Kevin Feige and Louis D'Esposito.

The actors give the film its true heart and soul. From left to right, Chris Evans (Captain America himself, previously the Human Torch in the Fantastic 4) Hayley Atwell (a London stage actress who reportedly spent some quality time in Kansas City) and Sebastian Stan (who said he'd originally tried for the roll of Captain America but is thrilled to be a sidekick.) Also in the film but not at our press event: Tommy Lee Jones, Dominic Cooper as Tony Stark's dad pre-Iron Man, and Stan Lee in his best cameo yet.

The "Radio Avengers" during the actor interviews: Dan B, Deongello, Steve-O, Jen, Dan R, and Ivan. Big thanks to Rebecca and the gang from Paramount Pictures, Jennifer from Allied Integrated Marketing, and the cast and crew of Captain America for answering all our silly movie questions. Leaving the Four Seasons Hotel, we randomly ran into actor Jason Bateman and he was totally cool ... so let's thank him too.

For years I've been thinking I should take guitar lessons "someday." Then I ran into Jay EuDaly from Master Guitar. Jay literally wrote the book on guitar technique, and is well-respected in the local and national music community. I've been so pleased to finally learn the notes and chords to the Nirvana and Tom Petty songs on JACK-FM.

Friday, November 19th JACK-FM invited our listeners to donate food and help SAVE THANKSGIVING.

Jon Anthony hangs with the crew from the Salvation Army, who will feed 10,000 families this holiday season.

Like the Temptations, I "ain't too proud to beg" for money when it comes to an important cause.

Big thanks to EVERYONE who dropped in with food or money during our Turkey Drive.

Thanks also to Hy-Vee in Overland Park for letting us hang out all day!

STEVE-O APPROVED: It's JACK-FM vs. Jackass 3D for the press screening of the third (and best!!!) film.

JACK-FM CONTEST WINNERS: Johnny Knoxville had to agree -- these two are jackasses! (A compliment.)

SIMMER DOWN, NOW: Chris Pontius, Jackass director Jeff Tremaine, Jack winners Mark & Megan, Steve-O.

INTERVIEW SESSIONS: Seconds later, a hoard of killer bees is released into the studio to pep things up.

LUCKY ME: At the Jackass 3D premiere, I sat with Bam and his band Vains of Jenna.

I LOVE YOU FOR MENTIONING MY BAND, STEVE-O: You're welcome, Bam!

My favorite bit from Jackass 3D is this parody of Maxell cassette tape ads, with wind provided by a jet engine.

Now Ryan Dunn officially gets my vote for most underappreciated member of the CKY crew.

Special thanks to Paramount Pictures, Allied Integrated Marketing, and the crew at the Roosevelt Hotel.

BRAZIL ROCKS: The JACK-FM $30 special at Fogo De Chao has been extended until Sunday, September 19!

Yes, it's a "steak house," but don't forget to visit the salad bar first for fresh bread, cheese and veggies!

GOING FOR A SPIN: choose from 15 fabulous cuts of steak, pork, chicken, lamb, and sausage prepared in the traditional Gaucho method and served tableside. [Okay, these rotating spits in the front window are largely ceremonial -- but they do illustrate what's going on back in the kitchen rather effectively!]
