The Chiefs wrapped up a difficult home season with a loss to the Miami Dolphins this past weekend. Many things are changing at Arrowhead, from the physical changes at the stadium to the ouster this week of GM / CEO / President Carl Peterson this team will have a completely new feel sooner than later.
One of the most noticeable changes will be the lack of the team's biggest cheerleader on the sidelines. On Sunday we commemorated the retirement of Tony DiPardo (aka - "Mr. Music"). Tony has lead the pep band (originally called the Zing Band) since the day Lamar Hunt brought his Texans to town.
Thanks for the all years of pumping up the crowds at Arrowhead, Tony! You are a true KC icon!
On Wednesday's show I told you about The Family Conservancy, a great organization that helps families prepare their children for a lifetime of success by providing parenting info and classes, counseling, and more.
They have a Christmas Wish List for 2008 that includes numerous items used in therapy sessions. Please contact them through their website if you can help with any of the following items:
-Digital Camera (new or used), tripod, journals, childrens tennis shoes (new), diapers, art table, art supplies, conference room chairs, coffe pot, small refrigerator, tower fans, balloons, bubbles, stress balls, projector and laptop, combo TV/DVD players.
Check out this snow angel somebody made right outside the JACK FM Broadcasting Complex in beautiful Mission, KS. Pretty good, huh?
Speaking of Snow Angels, here's Truta with the fabulous Radio City Music Hall Rockettes!
Around Thanksgiving we brought you the story about The Pet Connection animal shelter in Mission, KS. Someone stole a trailer full of building supplies from behind the shelter one night. The supplies were being used to build some new rooms to house more dogs and cats rescued from the threat of euthanasia at other area shelters.
